Avenue of Stars: Hollywood of the East

Image
Instead of waking up at 6:00am as we've planned before, waking up at 10:00am is the most favorable one for our tired body hehehe our itinerary was messed up! Today we walked down to Victoria Harbour, only 5 minutes from our hotel! And we walked down the Avenue of Stars, a kind of a Hollywood type boardwalk where a ton of Hong Kong stars make hand imprints in the cement next to their names. Look at the picture below, can you guess the name of the superstar in the picture? :D Celebrity Handprints Not only the handprints but also a statue. I got a couple of pictures next to it. View of Victoria Harbour and its Hollywood Statues Movie Memorabilia A number of other attractions exist including the Museum of Art, Cultural Centre, Space Museum, Clock Tower and Bruce Lee statue near the Salisbury Garden. Too bad our time for sightseeing was limited due to the fact that we woke up late. :( Catching a quick glimpse of the place then we flew into Sheung W...

Magical Journey at Hong Kong Disneyland Resort

Image
Finally reached the main entrance to Disneyland Resort! so excited! Dreams come true maybe for most of the visitors in Disney including me. Since childhood I just watched Mickey and Minnie and other Disney characters in television but at this time as if I have escaped from the real world and make my dreams come true. Can't resist to touch Mickey for the first time...hehehe :D The views are totally amazing and made us take more than a 100 pictures... While we are busy taking pictures, my mom found herself sitting pretty on one of the bench nearby the entrance. She's so tired I guess, after our long journey from Tsim Sha Tsui to Central. But despite of that, excitement and joy was clearly obvious on her face. Near to the main entrance was the big whale fountain with Mickey surfing above it. The main gate where you can buy your Disney ticket. It was not high season when we went there but the crowds is inevitable sometimes. We're blessed because we ...

Heading to Disney

Image
As per request of my mother, our first stop was at Hong Kong Disneyland Resort. Many people prefer to visit Disney on December where it is cold and have many colorful christmas decors unlike on June - July where scattered rain showers are expected. But despite of that, flood of visitors still spend time going to Disney including us. From our hotel, we took a short walk going to the Star Ferry 6 terminal bound to Central Station. Though the MTR station is just next door from our hotel but we prefer to try their ferry and see the scenery along the way because what you gain in speed through the MTR Express, you lose in views. Here's a quick glimpse of interesting views on the way to Star Ferry Terminal. The Clock Tower Museum of Art Space Museum Star Ferry Terminal 6 Location Map available on the site. We've seated at the upper deck to catch clearly the views. Below are some of the photos taken from my camera. It was a smooth 20 minute rid...

Leaving for Hong Kong

Image
It's been so long that I haven't updated my blogs after a long holiday in Philippines, Hong Kong and Macau. But I'm gonna catch up with that...bringing you to my Magical Journey full of excitements and fun that was never been washed away despite of the rainy days. Thanks to Ms. Claudia Kaunang, through her magical budget travel books, and to Ms. Suyanti Ester for her valuable travel tips I with my family were able to go around Hong Kong and Macau with less expense and easy - to - follow directions. ************************************************************************************* We basically booked for a promo fares of Cebu Pacific Air bound to Hong Kong last 27 of June 2011. The supposed flight was at 19:10 but it was moved to 19:20 because of bad weather condition. I'm one of the passengers who keep on praying that our flight won't be cancelled and thanks to God, around 19:25, it was announced that we could start boarding to our plane. Two hours later, we land...

Tips for Dunia Fantasi

Image
What a memorable day when one of my travel reviews was being featured in Travbuddy.com last April 15, 2011. I woke up so early to see my updates on that website and I was shocked with lots of greetings and messages I've received on that day. Not only because my reviews was featured but it was my birthday on that day! Nice birthday gift ever! Not everybody is being featured on their birthday...hahaha so silly! I was new to that site, travbuddy.com, and yet in just 4 months I've received a Photographer I award, Happy Happy Award and was being featured for my travel review. That is a lot to be thankful! With the gladness I felt, I also want to share it here.............. Dunia Fantasi or otherwise known as Fantasy World situated in Ancol Dreamland, home of around 23 fantastic rides and other special shows. Among its most popular attractions are the Halilintar twisted roller coaster ride, Niagara flume ride, Istana Boneka (a local version of Disney's It's a Small World) an...

A Day Trip to Monumen Nasional

Image
It was a Black Saturday morning when we decided to visit the Indonesian National Monument or commonly known as MONAS. It is a bit weird and so funny to think that most of the people around the world are busy at that time for their visita Iglesia but we found ourselves queeing for this historical place in Indonesia. Hmmmmm.....another style of celebrating the Easter! As far as my opinion is concerned, celebrating the Easter is not just by merely visiting churches but by living it everyday in our life. Well, that is my opinion....Peace! And so we took the Transjakarta Busway with Blok M to Kota Tua route, which only costs us Rp.3,500 (less than 1 USD). Very cheap! What a drizzling day when we arrived to the place but it does not stop us to pursue our trip up to its top yard. Monumen Nasional: Jakarta City Most of the people near this place, usually utilize Monas area as a place for sport activities and other recreations. Monas is really a big ...

Dunia Fantasi: Chill Out!

Image
Two days before our long awaited FCE Examination, me and my friends has decided to visit Dunia Fantasi (Dufan) last Saturday 02 April to relax and have fun.  We bought the ticket in a lower price since one of my friend's relatives work there and it gives us less hassle to buy the ticket. So excited for the trip, we arrived at the Dunia Fantasi around 9:15am. Without knowing the change of schedule, Dunia Fantasi will opens at 11:00 instead of 10:00. There is a "Rombongan" on that day, a group tripping from Garuda Indonesia Airlines. At that time we already feel hesitant to get inside due to that Rombongan Day. I felt that it's wrong timing to visit Dufan. I could imagine how crowded and how long the queue for each rides and shows. But we still go and chill out! Dunia Fantasi or otherwise known as Dufan in short is a fantasy world in Ancol Dreamland, Jakarta. It is a home of almost 23 rides and other special shows. They said that this is much better than what we have in...
