Leaving for Hong Kong

It's been so long that I haven't updated my blogs after a long holiday in Philippines, Hong Kong and Macau. But I'm gonna catch up with that...bringing you to my Magical Journey full of excitements and fun that was never been washed away despite of the rainy days.

Thanks to Ms. Claudia Kaunang, through her magical budget travel books, and to Ms. Suyanti Ester for her valuable travel tips I with my family were able to go around Hong Kong and Macau with less expense and easy - to - follow directions.

We basically booked for a promo fares of Cebu Pacific Air bound to Hong Kong last 27 of June 2011. The supposed flight was at 19:10 but it was moved to 19:20 because of bad weather condition. I'm one of the passengers who keep on praying that our flight won't be cancelled and thanks to God, around 19:25, it was announced that we could start boarding to our plane.

Two hours later, we landed at Hong Kong International Airport.

The weather in Hong Kong was much more favorable than I thought. From the airport, we bought for our octopus card worth 150 HK$ with a 50 HK$ deposit which is refundable once you leave Hong Kong or can be redeem to any outlet using this MTR card like in 7 - eleven shops. But for us we just keep it as a souvenir card. We took the Airport MTR Express from the airport to Tsing Yi station and transferred to the yellow lane of Lai King - Tsuen Wan line to reach Tsim Sha Tsui Station. It was almost an hour ride from the airport to Tsim Sha Tsui where our hotel is located.

We stayed in Wonderful Inn or commonly known as Golden Crown Guest House which is just one block away from the Tsim Sha Tsui Station. The very reason why I've choose this hotel was its proximity to Avenue of Stars, Museums, Star Ferry 6 and to the China Ferry Terminal. Aside from that, I also considered the very high profile reviews that this hotel have in terms of its cleanliness and facilities. Free drinking water, shampoo, free used of telephone (local calls only), free wifi, with cabled flatscreen tv, hair dryer, electric thermostat, mugs, heater and everyday clean bath towel are one of their good points. Not only that, the management also offers discounted tickets to Disney, Ocean Park, and Noah's Ark. We bought the Disney ticket to them for only 320 HK$ instead of 350 HK$ of the usual price. Whoooaahh, what a discounts! I highly recommend this hotel for those traveler who have a very tight budget but worth the stay. For a double bed room, it costs 350 HK$ per night. But I want to warned you, expect that the room is small like the size of a regular bathroom and also their bathroom is really small. There are nice hotel with big room, just that the price is super high. So, best way is to accept it if not willing to fork out too much money in accommodation :)

We arrived in our hotel for almost 23:00 at night. We just unpacked our things and decided to rest for our tomorrow's itineraries. Actually there is regrets on my part of deciding to booked our flight at night since we're not able to go around and see some attractions on the first day we arrived in Hong Kong. I shouldn't have considered the price of the ticket but the time as well. It is better to booked the flight in daytime next time so to spend the day worthwhile.
