Dunia Fantasi: Chill Out!

Two days before our long awaited FCE Examination, me and my friends has decided to visit Dunia Fantasi (Dufan) last Saturday 02 April to relax and have fun.  We bought the ticket in a lower price since one of my friend's relatives work there and it gives us less hassle to buy the ticket. So excited for the trip, we arrived at the Dunia Fantasi around 9:15am. Without knowing the change of schedule, Dunia Fantasi will opens at 11:00 instead of 10:00. There is a "Rombongan" on that day, a group tripping from Garuda Indonesia Airlines. At that time we already feel hesitant to get inside due to that Rombongan Day. I felt that it's wrong timing to visit Dufan. I could imagine how crowded and how long the queue for each rides and shows. But we still go and chill out!
Dunia Fantasi or otherwise known as Dufan in short is a fantasy world in Ancol Dreamland, Jakarta. It is a home of almost 23 rides and other special shows. They said that this is much better than what we have in Hongkong Disney Land. I'm pretty interested to find out this claims on this coming June. I'll be there in HK Disney soon. Dufan is a big theme park and one day is not enough to explore and play every rides especially if there is a flood of visitors coming.
Among its most popular attractions are the Halilintar twisted roller coaster ride, Niagara flume ride, Istana Boneka (a local version of Disney's It's a Small World) and Balada Kera (Monkey Parody – animatronics show) Theater show. Other attractions include Bianglala (ferris wheel), Kora-Kora (swinging ship), Poci-Poci (spinning cups ride), and Hysteria. Several of the latest and newest rides are Kicir-Kicir (Power Surge), Perang Bintang (Star Wars) - an interactive dark ride, Meteor Attack and Tornado (Windshear by Zamperla).

We experienced waiting for one ride for almost an hour and then the rides only took for a minute. It's really quiet dissapointing sometimes but that's the fact. It's Rombongan Day! So all rides are packed. I advise you to avoid the holiday season to visit Ancol or during weekends. Better to ask or make a call to their office if there would be a Rombongan just like what we experienced. The experience will be more relaxing if you can visit there when you don’t anticipate many visitors. Luckily, we have tried 8 rides out of 23 rides and two special shows. Not too bad I think.

After all the sweating and restless feet, we entered the Istana Boneka to freshened up ourselves. Istana Boneka or Doll House as I called it, was a local version of Disney's It's a Small World.

Istana Boneka or Doll House
An airconditioned place hosting many dolls wearing different customes from different countries and different provinces of Indonesia depicting each unique cultures. I really enjoyed it even if I'm too young for it.  But I think it's good for all ages. We’ll have to go back to Ancol in the future to see other parts of the Ancol Bay City.
Have your next family day out here in Dufan or any in Ancol Dreamland, it would be really a Great Fun!
