Teachers Escapade: Day 1 - Island Hopping at Harapan, Bira, Perak and Gosong Islands

Date of Exploration: 6-8 January 2015

Back from holiday....back to reality. Our 3D2N trip in Pulau Seribu was indeed very fun and relaxing. Pulau Seribu, or commonly known as Thousand Islands was located at the northern part of Jakarta's coast. I do in fact miss the sun and the beach so much!!!

A few days ago, I visited few of the major islets in Pulau Seribu with my colleagues. These are the Harapan, Bira, Perak, and Gosong islands.
The Muara Angke Pier.

Despite the 90 minutes bumpy long drive from Muara Angke pier to Pulau Harapan (our first stop and where our villa is located), we are absolutely rewarded with the majestic views of the Java Sea which tooks us taking lots of pictures with our photographers onboard, Ms. Marilou and Ms. Mona.

Too many photos to edit, so I created a collage out of it. Let them load! ;)

It's time for us teachers to unwind and refresh ourselves before going back to our routines....and be attuned with nature.....

Pulau Bira, once known as the Pulau Seribu Paradise but now a deserted old resort. It has a dock made up of wood, where you can enjoy seeing the coral garden and some sea urchins under its clear blue water.
Perfect place for taking pictures.

Pulau Perak,(literally a "silver island") is located north of Pulau Putri. Of all the islands we've visited, Pulau Perak is the one that I loved the most. The crystal blue water and the glistening white sand beach is the most favored by naturalists like me. It was also a haven of cute crabs.

We spotted a group of crabs on the shore.

The moment of truth: We have brought out the child in us. =D
Offering nice spots for swimming.

Taking in the scenery while sipping a nice tropical drink.

Or hot noodles for hot days like this???????

Pulau Gosong, 10 minutes from the Pulau Perak. There is no trees, rocks or anything only the mounds of white sand in the middle of the sea.

Pulau Harapan was formerly known as Pulau Pelemparan, it has been a place of exile. But now changed to "Pulau Harapan or Hope island" symbolizing a new era.
This place offers more than just mesmerizing landscape, epic sunset but delicious freshly cooked food as well. I'm talking about fresh ikan tenggiri (Spanish mackerel) with sambal!!!

It's Barbeque Time!

We ended our day by enjoying the sunset in Pulau Harapan.

And our legs up the wall to loosen, to relieve our tired and cramped legs. Yay! Ready for tomorrow snorkeling!
