MERDEKA!!! Celebrating 69th Independence Day of Indonesia

Hi guys! Am back with another fresh post for you all, and was hoping to share some thoughts on school programs and activities that happened in my workplace this time. For those who've been following my travel posts, you'd have figured that I'd never share any of those activities since then. I guess they are also worth remembering as how I treasure all my travel experiences.
Grabbed these picture of Paskibra team from Ms. Marilou Sergote' album (thanks sis)!

Every year, my workplace kicks off with a whole-day celebration in solemn ceremonies in commemoration of their 69th Independence Day here in Indonesia held every 17th of August. The events started off with a flag raising ceremony lead by our energetic Paskibra team of selected Senior students. I have joined this institution since 2009 and I can say the BIG improvement on them. Kudos to all the Paskibra team and to their trainors! Really appreciated your dedications, discipline and hardworks during your practice for the said event.

Tons of fun comes right after the ceremony, where students coming from different houses participated and competed with one another in the different games. Students were equally distributed into different houses namely, Indonesian Sea; Arafuru;Timor; Banda; Java Sea; Sawu; and Sunda.

A fun round of Tug-of-War; this is the best group ever, housed with broad and big buddies =D

These events will not be completed without indulging with different Indonesian dishes especially with their iconic dish, Nasi Tumpeng, never been absent, usually served during this kind of special events.

Festival of food carts also graced the events alongside the parking area of the school, selling "kue ape", a Betawi traditional cake stuffed with soft-centered cake looks like muffin with crispy, sweet crust; "Tahu Gejrot",Cirebon delicacy consists of fried tofu and usually eaten with sweet and sour sauce with adequate amount of crushed chili and garlic ;'Pecel Sayur',a real influence of Javanese using some chili peanut sauce mounted with different steamed vegetables; "Es Doger", an especialty from Bandung desserts; and the "Bakso Malang", a commonly made from beef and vegetables.
