SCIENCE in ACTION

Image
Life’s been busy in our school this quarter as teachers and students prepare for several important events. ICAS exams, additional classes everyday for Cambridge exams on Oct - Nov, school's accreditation and Open House just to name a few. The teachers, staff and students worked extremely hard to get ready for this milestone of events and everyone did an amazing job. A number of our secondary school Science students had their Sciwork exhibited in the annual Open House last September 19,2015 at Penabur International School. It was wonderful to see the whole community come together and celebrate the work of students. It was a great opportunity for parents and some of their relatives to see first hand the kinds of work and thinking what their children do at school. The exhibition showcased the energy, efforts, and two- & three-dimensional creativity of our talented students in the area of Science. Silver tree redox reactions. Randomness in My Life

Image
I'm back! Work has been keeping me busy, as usual and always. But here is the quick update from me. Happy to say that my husband was here for a vacation till December. (Gosh, love is in the air!!!) It's been amazing 10 years to marked in our calendar. We're far apart from each other, but distance doesn't count if there is love in between. It was the faith that brought us together. Inspite of having no children of our own..... we are blessed in so many ways and we are happy together. We do believe that Yahweh, our Almighty God, is really amazing and will open the doorways for us soon in His right timing. #decadesmore #fingerscrossed Instead of going for a routine of window shopping at Central Park, (the mall near the apartment), we brought ourselves to the Eco Park in Ancol for a sight seeing and photo - shooting experience. I supposed it would be nice strolling and shooting under the bright sunny weather and it indeed was! With Ms. Vika and Mr. Buwang happy...

Sunday 5K Run

Image
As a casual jogger who hasn't jogged in a long while, I did not intend to go full force or try to accomplish anything at all. It was wholly about having a good sweat and bonding with my husband on a lovely Sunday morning. It was his first 5K run without any prior exercise and lack of sleep from the time he came here in Indonesia yet he had made it to the finish line in less than an hour. Hehehe good job my dear! xoxo Much thanks to CombiRun for featuring our photos during the run. Such a great photos! Great Colours! Let them load!!! Amazing how running brings people together! =) The highlight of my week: Sunday morning "date" run with my hubby and friends. And we made it!!! So proud of us. :D

Kampung Naga Life in Stills

Image
I seem to be having wanderlust again lately and decided to spend some time today in quietude before the slew of school's activities. So thankful for these pockets of time to centre myself and align my thoughts. Kampung Naga is a small village that lies within the Neglasari village, Salawu District, Tasikmalaya, West Java Indonesia. It took us several hundreds of concrete steps to reach the place and encountered a wonderful 1.5 hectares village full of simplicity and beauty of nature. Approaching Kampung Naga Welcome to Kampung Naga What impacted me most were their persistence to cling to cultural traditions and way of life against the setbacks posts by modernization. Exploring Indonesia: Mount Galunggung

Image
Hi all! It's been a while, a long, long while since I last updated my blog. How's life? Here I am sitting in front of my laptop, blogging about my trip in Indonesia with my newly acquainted friends that I just met in Plaza Semanggi last week. There wasn't much planning involved prior landing our feet on this quaint and beautiful piece of historical land. Hiking at 3AM, the earliest amongst all. So funny to say that I'm just wearing a thin long sleeve shirt, skinny pants and a pair of flat shoes while my other friends are all geared up for it. Huh!I'm freezing to death during the trip seriously. :( Oh dear, my poor shoes. Huhuhu! We visited the Kampung Naga of Tasikmalaya in West Java. We somehow managed to explore the village which initially known as "The Dragon Village" and climbed 620 stairs to the Mount Galunggung early Sunday morning. We barely rested enough with just a few hours of sleep. The consequence is, I overstretched my leg muscles ...
