We Heart Singapore!

I've been here a couple of months ago but never have I traveled Singapore in perhaps the way it was designed to be traveled: By train. Border-by-border, Culture-by-culture, Perception-by-perception.

So to fill you in; we (my sister Marilou and I) traveled to Singapore for 6 - day Christmas vacation last December 2010. I took everything into precaution. I did my research on the net & asked heaps of questions. I have learned a great deal of info to start our itinerary with.

We arrived at the Changi Airport around 9am. Still quite and very little life at all. Singapore doesn't see action until after 10am as we were soon to learn. What a joyous mood when I saw my ex - colleague, Ate Winnilyn. For two years we haven't seen each other after they plan to settle in Singapore. Immediately we left the airport and headed to Ate Winilyn's flat on Admiralty Place where we are going to spend our vacation.

It's my first time to use their SMRT cause before I'm used to take taxi to go to places there. The SMRT is their very cool and seemingly efficient public transit system. It is easy to figure out and everything is, of course, in English.

We met a Chinese friend (the one in black) who is also new to using SMRT . It's good that Ate Winilyn was there to guide her through. So let me give you a glimpse of the place where we stayed.

Along the way, my attention was caught by this flock of birds having feast with KFC customer's leftover. It seems that KFC really taste good!

We took a short rest before going to a dinner with Ate Winilyn's family in Yishun Mall.

And that was it for the first few hours upon arrival in Singapore.
We started our itinerary the next day to Sentosa Island. Since Universal Studios was recently launched last 18 March 2010, it ranked 1 to our toplist itinerary. Unfortunately, when we get there, the park's ticket had already been sold out for that period. So as to expect, it was a school holiday season so getting tickets for that period was hard. Be warned for those planning to go to Universal Studios, you must buy your tickets in advance to save your time some more.

Luckily, I was able to booked our ticket through internet using my Visa Card right on the 25th of December...yay! what a Christmas gift for us!
Anyways, I'll write up another post regarding our complete trip in Universal Studios :)
