A Walk Through the Singapore Zoo (Part 3/5)

So as I've mentioned in my previous blog, we will meet our friendly forest inhabitants, gentle giant tortoises, modern - day dragons and some crocodiles lurking around the zoo. So get ready for a total ecological adventure with me :)

(Prepare for a post full of photos!) In fact the next few posts will probably be a lot of photos. So I shall try cut down on the words.

To start with this Free Ranging Orang Utan Island.
Near to this was a lodge which house the remains of a Sumatran Orang Utan.

They hardly sleep; they only sleep for about 2 hours a day.

 

The giraffes turned away as we moved towards them. :( Get frightened with my beauty? Hehehe :D

Next, we explore the lizard world. 

The Komodo dragons with its nasty bite!


 
The Iguana

 
I noticed that this iguana looks serious. He was not moving even when we went near! I want to touch it to check if it's real but I'm not brave enough to do it .......hmmmm......follow the Park Rules hehehe :)



Near to this area was the Snake House, which we never give a try to visit the place. We're both frightened. We decided to see other attractions instead.

Exploring the Green Country of Singapore

Introduction Sorry to start this entry this late. Work has been crazy, trying to finish up my work before posting this blog trip, and I am trapped inside the temptation of gaming world.....Farmville, Diner Dash, Sudoko and many others to mentioned! Thanks to my friend, Anton, who inspired me into the world of blogging..so to spend my time more useful now and more passionate. The school where I work with sponsored my Singapore Airline's ticket and all other expenses and allowances...what a privileged one! A Drive - Thru Taman Safari

We often see a zoo where animals are put behind the bars or the "open concept" kind of zoo in Singapore where the animals are enclosed in their natural settings. But my experienced in Taman Safari I Indonesia yesterday was totally unique where "we" are the one in the cage instead of the wild animals. The cage I'm referring to was our car which we use to go around. It is a drive - thru safari style zoo. Animals are set free and wandering around the car and on the streets. We bought 3 bundles of carrots along the road for only 20,000 rupiahs to feed them. Thanks to the woman selling it, she gave us big discounts for it. All carrots we bought are still fresh. It is pretty neat to feed the animals from our car window. We are asked to close our car windows when we enter the Wildlife Zone. We saw lots of African lion, Bengal tiger, cheetah and others.
